We are committed to being a sustainability leader in the chemical value chain through innovation and engagement with our people, communities and industry partners. Our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy is built around our vision of moving toward a greener, safer and smarter future.

Our commitment to environmental and social responsibility

We believe we have a responsibility to operate in an environmentally and socially responsible way. And perhaps more importantly, we simply want to.

Our commitment to sustainability is an ongoing journey as we work to understand our impact and move toward a greener, safer and smarter future.

We look to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a guide for our sustainability initiatives. The areas in which we believe we can make an impact are highlighted below.

Environmental Sustainability Goals

We have developed measurable environmental goals for our sustainability program that we aim to achieve over the next one to 10 years. They include:

  • Creating a baseline of energy, GHGs, water, and waste by the end of Q2 2022 and set goals to reduce impacts of baseline with 2025 target.
  • Issuing the company’s first sustainability report in 2022.
  • Converting 25% of last mile and drayage fleet to be alternative fuel by 2030.
  • Meeting 35% CARB regulations by 2025 for tractors and trailers.
  • Including aero deflectors on 20% of the dry bulk fleet by 2025.
  • Creating supplier code of conduct by the end of Q3 2023 and educating 100% of strategic suppliers on the code by the end of 2023.
  • Requesting strategic suppliers to submit the environmental survey by end of 2023.

Thought Leadership
